Woven Silk Panels - Papilionaceous ~ Jacquard Silk Ribbon Weavers

The panels below are pieced together from individually woven silk ribbons. Each ribbon is 4cm wide and specifically designed to work in combination with its neighbours.

In a change to most of the wall panels below where the ribbons are first mounted on to some kind of stretcher frame, in the two most recent pieces the ribbons are all suspended individually. A new technique for me, it means the ribbons are held but not under tension.
